Getting Started with Brain AI (BYOK)
Brain AI runs on your own AI provider key. Setup takes about a minute and is done once by a workspace admin.
1. Create a key with a provider
Create an API key with one of the supported providers:
- OpenRouter — one key for many models.
- OpenAI
- Anthropic (Claude)
Usage is billed by your provider, never by PMSuite. PMSuite takes zero commission.
2. Paste the key in PMSuite
- Go to Brain AI → Providers & settings (
/account/ai-agents/settings). - Pick the provider, paste your API key and save.
- PMSuite sends one tiny test message to confirm the key works.
Keys are stored encrypted and are never shown again after saving.
3. Turn on the workspace switch
Brain AI stays off until an admin switches it on. In Providers & settings, turn on Enable Brain AI for this workspace and save. Members then see the chat button and the Brain AI menu item.
On the same page admins can also:
- choose which roles may use Brain AI (admins always can; clients are excluded unless chosen),
- allow members to add their own personal key,
- allow the assistant to propose changes,
- set how long conversation history is kept,
- set a monthly token limit.
