Getting Started with PMSuite

This section covers the core orientation tasks for every new user: signing in, reading your dashboard, navigating the sidebar, finding your calendar, updating your profile, and completing the initial setup wizard. All PMSuite features are browser-based — no software installation is required.

Who Can Use This

User typeAccess
AdminAll areas described here
EmployeeDashboard (Private mode), My Calendar, Profile Settings, sidebar navigation
ClientClient portal — dashboard and navigation differ from the admin/employee view

Module visibility is controlled per user type in Settings → Module Settings. If a section described here is not visible to a specific user, an admin can enable it there.

Prerequisites

  • An active PMSuite account — created by an admin, or via a company-specific signup link
  • Login credentials (email + password) provided during account setup or invitation
  • Optional: Two-factor authentication (2FA) configured in Settings → Security Settings (Email OTP or Google Authenticator app)

How to Access

Once logged in, every PMSuite page lives under the /account/ path on your workspace URL. The starting point is the dashboard:

  • Private Dashboard — /account/dashboard — personal view showing only your own data
  • Advanced Dashboard — /account/dashboard-advanced — org-wide view, permission-gated

Your workspace URL takes the form yoursubdomain.pmsuite.co, or a custom domain if your admin has configured one under White-Label.

Key Areas at a Glance

Dashboard (/account/dashboard)

The dashboard is your central summary view. Two modes are available:

Private Dashboard shows your personal activity only.

Advanced Dashboard shows org-wide metrics (requires the relevant permission):

Metric tileWhat it shows
Total RevenueAggregate revenue across all clients
Active EmployeesHeadcount currently active
Team HealthComposite team health indicator
Net ProfitRevenue minus expenses
Pipeline ValueOpen deals value
Tasks DoneCompleted task count
Open TicketsUnresolved support tickets
Overdue InvoicesInvoices past due date
Pending LeavesLeave applications awaiting approval

Below the tiles, per-module summary widgets give condensed views for Sales, Projects, HR, Finance, and Workspace, each linking into the full module. Charts include revenue trends (time series), HR attendance breakdown (present / absent / late), and Finance revenue vs. expenses.

Sidebar Navigation

The left sidebar is persistent across all screens. Key persistent elements:

  • Module links — Sales, Projects, HR, Finance, Workspace, and sub-sections
  • Clock In / Out button — bottom-left corner on every screen; shows elapsed time once active
  • Global search — accessible from the top bar
  • Notification bell — links to /account/all-notifications
  • Dark mode toggle
  • Sticky Notes — /account/sticky-notes
  • Help / FAQs and Billing quick links

For a full breakdown of sidebar sections and how visibility is controlled by role and Module Settings, see Sidebar Navigation.

My Calendar (/account/my-calendar)

Your personal calendar view aggregates tasks, events, leaves, and other time-bound records assigned to you. See My Calendar for display options and filtering.

Profile Settings (/account/settings/profile-settings)

Your profile has three tabs:

  • Profile — Picture, Name, Email, Password, Notification preferences, Google Calendar connection, Country, Mobile, Language, Gender, Date of Birth, Slack Member ID, Marital Status, Address
  • Emergency Contacts
  • Documents

Changes saved here apply immediately to your account. For company-level settings, admins use Settings → Company Settings.

Setup Wizard

The setup wizard walks new admins through the initial configuration steps for their workspace. See Setup Wizard for the complete guided flow.

Effect on Other Features

  • Permission changes applied in Roles & Permissions take effect after the affected user logs out and back in — active sessions do not refresh automatically.
  • Module Settings toggles affect all users of the specified type (Admin / Employee / Client) immediately across the sidebar.
  • Theme Settings can be set independently per panel (Public Pages, Admin Panel, Employee Panel, Client Panel) — your dashboard appearance may differ from what a client or employee sees.

Limitations

LimitationWorkaround
Advanced Dashboard is permission-gated — employees see Private Dashboard by defaultAdmin enables the relevant permission in Roles & Permissions
Module visibility cannot be customized per individual user — only per user typeUse custom roles to approximate per-user control
Clock In / Out button always visible at bottom-left; cannot be repositionedNo workaround — it is a fixed persistent element

Troubleshooting

I do not see the Advanced Dashboard option. The Advanced Dashboard (/account/dashboard-advanced) requires a permission granted by an admin in Settings → Roles & Permissions. After the permission is granted, log out and back in for the change to take effect.

My sidebar does not show a module I expected. Check Settings → Module Settings — each module is independently toggled per user type (Admin, Employee, Client). An admin must enable it for your user type.

Two-factor authentication is blocking my login. If you use the Google Authenticator method, the code is time-based and works without network access. If the code is rejected, check that the time on your device is accurate (time-drift causes 2FA codes to become invalid). If you are locked out, contact your workspace admin or PMSuite support at info@pmsuite.co.

A menu item disappeared after a role change. Permission changes apply on next login. Have the user log out and log back in. If the item is still missing, verify that the module is enabled in Module Settings for their user type.
