Timelog Calendar View

People often want to see logged hours laid out on a calendar rather than as rows in a list. This article explains what PMSuite actually offers for date-based review of time, which calendar surfaces exist in the product, and how to get a day-by-day or week-by-week picture of hours worked.

The short version: time logs themselves live in the time logs hub (Timesheet) at /account/timelogs, and the date-based grid for hours is the Weekly Timesheet. PMSuite's calendar-style views (My Calendar, the Tasks Calendar view, and the Events calendar) show scheduled work — tasks and events — not individual time log entries.

Who can use it

  • Admins can review time logs and timesheets across the company, subject to role permissions.
  • Employees can review their own logged time.
  • Everything below follows your role and permissions — what you can see and edit depends on the permissions granted to your role.

Prerequisites

  • The Time Logs module must be enabled in Settings → Module Settings.
  • At least one project must exist, and time must already have been logged — these views display saved entries, they do not create hours by themselves.
  • For the Tasks Calendar view, the Tasks module must be enabled and tasks must have dates.
  • For the Events calendar, the Events module must be enabled.

Reviewing time by date

The Weekly Timesheet grid

The Weekly Timesheet (/account/time-log-weekly-report) is the closest thing PMSuite has to a calendar for hours. It is a week-by-week grid running Monday through Sunday, with hours entered per task per day. This gives you the same "did I cover every day this week?" read that a calendar gives you — an empty cell is a day with no hours against that task.

The submission flow is: the employee fills in hours per task across the Mon–Sun grid → Save → Submit For Approval. An admin then reviews and approves or rejects it.

The time logs hub

At /account/timelogs each entry is a record with a Project, Task, Employee, Start Date, Start Time, End Date, End Time and a Memo. Total hours are calculated automatically from the start/end datetime pair, so the list already tells you exactly when each block of work started and stopped. Use the list's filters to narrow to a date range or an employee when you want to inspect a specific day.

The Time Log Report

For totals across a period rather than individual entries, use the Time Log Report at /account/time-log-report. This is the right place to answer "how many hours went to this project last month" — the calendar-style surfaces will not total hours for you.

Calendar views that do exist

Tasks — Calendar view

The Tasks list supports four views: List, Board, Calendar and Whiteboard. The Calendar view plots tasks by their dates. It shows tasks, not the hours logged against them — useful for seeing what was scheduled on a day, then cross-checking the hours in the timesheet.

Events

The Events module has Month, Week, Day and List calendar views, with filters for Employee, Client and Status, and both Add Event and Add Recurring Event creation paths.

My Calendar

/account/my-calendar is your personal calendar surface within the workspace.

Effect on other features

  • Weekly timesheet approval: Hours reviewed here are the same hours that go through Save → Submit For Approval. If Timelog requires approval is enabled in Settings → Time Log Settings, entries need an approval decision before they are treated as final.
  • Invoicing: Logged hours feed the Create TimeLog Invoice path, which auto-populates invoice line items from the hours recorded against a project.
  • Payroll: Payroll runs can include time logs via the Add Timelogs to Salary toggle, alongside Include Expense Claims and Use Attendance.
  • Reporting accuracy: Gaps or duplicate entries you spot when reviewing by date change the totals shown in the Time Log Report and anything built from logged hours, such as a TimeLog Invoice.
  • Reminders and reports: Settings → Time Log Settings controls whether time tracker reminders are sent and whether the Daily Timelog Report goes out, with role selection for who receives it.

Limitations

LimitationWorkaround
There is no calendar grid that plots individual time log entries as blocks on a timeline.Use the Weekly Timesheet Mon–Sun grid for a day-by-day read of hours, and the Tasks Calendar view to see what was scheduled on those days.
Calendar surfaces (Tasks, Events, My Calendar) do not total hours.Use the Time Log Report (/account/time-log-report) for filtered totals.
You cannot create a time log by clicking a slot on a calendar.Create entries from the time logs hub (/account/timelogs) using manual entry, or use the timer. Manual entry requires Allow manual time logs to be enabled on the project.
Items created in PMSuite do not appear in a connected Google Calendar unless Google Calendar sync is configured; sync is one-way PMSuite → Google Calendar, so nothing created in Google flows back into PMSuite.Add anything that originates in Google Calendar to PMSuite manually.

Troubleshooting

A day looks empty but you know work was done. Check the date range and any active filters on the time logs list first, then confirm an entry actually exists at /account/timelogs. If it does not, log it — either with the timer or as a manual entry (the project must have Allow manual time logs enabled).

You cannot enter hours manually. Manual logging is only available when Allow manual time logs is enabled for that project. Ask an admin with permission to edit the project to turn it on in the project's settings. If a permission change was just made, log out and back in — permission changes do not always apply to an already-active session.

Your timer stopped unexpectedly. Settings → Time Log Settings has a Stop timer after shift end time option. If it is on, running timers end at the shift end time; correct the entry with a manual edit if the work continued past that point.

Hours look inflated. Overlapping entries for the same period — for example a timer entry plus a manual entry covering the same hours — will double-count. Review the entries for that day in the time logs list and delete or adjust the duplicate, then re-check the Time Log Report.

A timesheet is stuck awaiting approval. With Timelog requires approval enabled, an admin must approve or reject the submission. Confirm it was actually submitted with Submit For Approval and not just saved.
