Data Removal Requests
PMSuite's GDPR Settings include two areas that deal with erasing personal data: a Right to Erasure tab, where you publish the policy text that explains how people can ask you to delete their data, and a Removal Request (Customer/Lead) tab, which covers removal requests coming from customers and leads.
Both are part of the GDPR Settings page. GDPR compliance mode has a single enable/disable switch that controls whether these areas are active for your company.
Who can use it
Settings — including GDPR Settings — are administered from the company Settings area, so you need an account with access to Settings. If GDPR Settings is not visible in your Settings navigation, ask your company admin to grant you access.
How to Access
- Open Settings from the sidebar.
- Select GDPR Settings (
/account/gdpr-settings). - Use the tab strip to open Right to Erasure or Removal Request (Customer/Lead).
The GDPR Settings page has eight tabs in total:
| Tab | Covers |
|---|---|
| General | Enable/disable GDPR compliance mode and the customer-facing GDPR link. |
| Right to data portability | Policy text for data-portability requests. |
| Right to be informed | Policy text explaining what data you hold and why. |
| Right to Erasure | Policy text for erasure ("right to be forgotten") requests. |
| Right of Access/Rectification | Policy text for access and correction requests. |
| Removal Request (Customer/Lead) | Removal requests raised by customers and leads. |
| Consent Settings | Consent configuration. |
| Consent Lists | Recorded consent entries. |
Turning GDPR features on
GDPR compliance mode is enabled or disabled from GDPR Settings. While it is disabled, the GDPR content you have written is not surfaced to customers.
There is also a Show GDPR link in customer navigation/footer toggle. Turn it on so that customers can find your GDPR information — and therefore your erasure policy — from their own navigation or the page footer without having to contact you first.
Right to Erasure tab
This tab is where you write and store the erasure policy your company publishes. Use it to set out, in your own words:
- How someone asks you to delete their personal data.
- Which contact route or address the request should go to.
- What happens after the request is received.
Because the text is yours, keep it consistent with the retention rules your organisation actually follows. Nothing you type here deletes records on its own — it is the published statement of your process.
Removal Request (Customer/Lead) tab
This tab handles removal requests that originate from customers and leads specifically. Review it together with the Right to Erasure tab so the policy you publish and the request channel you operate describe the same process.
Limitations
- The erasure and removal tabs hold policy and request content — they are not an automatic delete button. Deleting or amending the underlying records is a separate action you perform in the relevant module (for example the customer or lead record itself). Workaround: write the internal steps your team must follow into the Right to Erasure text so whoever handles a request knows exactly which records to act on.
- The Removal Request tab is scoped to customers and leads. It is not a general queue for every person whose data you hold. Workaround: handle requests from other groups (such as employees) through your normal record-management process, and document that route in the Right to Erasure text.
- GDPR content is invisible to customers while GDPR mode is off. Workaround: enable GDPR compliance mode and turn on the customer navigation/footer link once your policy text is final.
Troubleshooting
I can't find GDPR Settings in the Settings list. Confirm you are looking at the company Settings navigation and that your account has access to it. Roles and access are managed under Roles & Permissions (/account/settings/role-permissions).
Customers can't see my GDPR information. Check two things on the General tab: GDPR compliance mode must be enabled, and the "Show GDPR link in customer navigation/footer" toggle must be on.
My erasure text isn't showing the way I wrote it. Reopen the Right to Erasure tab and confirm the content saved. If you edited several tabs in one sitting, save each tab before switching to the next.
A record still appears after I processed a request. The GDPR tabs do not remove records themselves. Open the customer or lead record in its own module and action it there.
