Consolidated Task Report
If you are looking for a single, consolidated view of task work across your workspace, PMSuite does not ship a report under the name "Consolidated Task Report." The reporting that exists under Projects → Reports is:
- Task Report — the task reporting view, at
/account/task-report. - Time Log Report — time recorded against tasks, at
/account/time-log-report. - Project Roadmap — the all-projects view, at
/account/projectroadmap.
Alongside these, the Weekly Timesheet (/account/time-log-weekly-report) gives a week-by-week grid of hours per task.
This article explains how to get a consolidated picture of task work using the views that actually exist, so you do not go looking for a menu item that is not there.
Who can use it
Access to the Projects reports follows your PMSuite role and its permission level. Permissions in PMSuite are set per module at the levels None / Added / Owns / All, so what a person sees in a report depends on the level granted for that module. Company admins typically hold All; other roles may see only records they added or own.
If someone's report access looks wrong after you change their permissions, have them log out and log back in — permission changes require a re-login to take effect.
Prerequisites
- The Reports module must be enabled for your workspace. Modules are toggled individually in workspace settings, and Reports is one of the toggleable modules.
- The Projects and Tasks modules must be enabled and in use, with at least one project and its tasks created — the reports read from that data.
- The user opening the report needs a permission level on the relevant module that is high enough to see the records they expect.
How to Access
Go to Projects → Reports in the sidebar, then choose the report you need. The Weekly Timesheet sits with the other Projects time views:
| View | Path |
|---|---|
| Task Report | /account/task-report |
| Time Log Report | /account/time-log-report |
| Project Roadmap | /account/projectroadmap |
| Weekly Timesheet | /account/time-log-weekly-report |
The Tasks list itself is at /account/tasks, and new tasks are created at /account/tasks/create.
Getting a consolidated view
Use the Project Roadmap for the all-projects picture
Project Roadmap is the view that shows every project together in one place, with progress bars, current status, and deadlines side by side. This is the closest thing PMSuite has to a portfolio-level summary, and it is the right starting point when you want to see where everything stands without opening each project one at a time.
Use the Task Report for task-level detail
Task Report is the reporting view for tasks themselves. Use it when you need to look at the tasks behind a project's status rather than the project's headline progress.
Use the Tasks list toolbar for ad-hoc slices
The Tasks list at /account/tasks carries its own toolbar with Filter, Export, a My Tasks filter, and Recurring Task setup. When you need a cut of task data that a report does not present directly, filter the Tasks list to what you want and export it. Exported task data can then be summarised in a spreadsheet however your organisation prefers.
Note that whether non-admin users can export at all is itself controlled by the "Employee can export data" toggle in settings, and table views have an "Allow export in table view" toggle per field. If Export is missing for a user, check those toggles first.
Effect on other features
- Tasks: Reports read from live task records. Anything that changes a task — status changes, the Mark As Complete button on the task, edits to dates or assignment — changes what these reports show.
- Recurring tasks: Recurrence in PMSuite is completion-triggered, not time-based. A recurring task's Cycles field must be populated for recurrence to work at all, and the next instance is only generated once the current one is marked Complete. This affects task counts over a period: future instances do not exist in your data until the current one is closed.
- Time Logs and Weekly Timesheet: Hours are a separate data set from task status. Total hours are auto-calculated from the start/end datetime pair on each time log, and weekly timesheets follow a Save → Submit For Approval → admin approve/reject flow. Task-status reporting and hours reporting will not necessarily agree, because a task can be complete with no hours logged, or open with many.
- Google Calendar: If Google Calendar is connected and the relevant per-type toggle is on, PMSuite pushes task records outward into the user's Google Calendar. The sync is one-way, PMSuite → Google Calendar; items created in Google Calendar do not appear in PMSuite and will never show up in these reports.
- Slack: With the Slack incoming-webhook integration enabled under Settings → Notification Settings → Slack, task-related events (including project/task assignment and task comments) can be posted to your Slack channel. That is notification delivery only, one-way PMSuite → Slack; it does not feed data back into reports.
Limitations
- There is no report named "Consolidated Task Report." Workaround: use Project Roadmap for the all-projects view and Task Report for task-level detail, as described above; for anything else, filter and export the Tasks list and summarise it in a spreadsheet.
- Client-facing custom task statuses are not available — the same statuses are shown to everyone, so you cannot present clients a simplified status set in reporting. Workaround: there is no in-product alternative today; submit it as a feature request on the roadmap page at pmsuite.co/roadmap.
- Multi-company reporting is not available — reporting is scoped to a single workspace. Workaround: run the reports per workspace and combine the exports; Multi-Company Support is a confirmed upcoming feature, though no release date has been announced.
- Recurring tasks do not pre-populate future instances, so forward-looking task counts understate planned work. Workaround: create the upcoming tasks explicitly, or read planned delivery from milestones and project deadlines on the Project Roadmap instead.
Troubleshooting
I cannot find "Consolidated Task Report" in the sidebar. It does not exist under that name. Open Projects → Reports and use Project Roadmap or Task Report.
The Reports section is missing entirely. Reports is a toggleable module. Ask a company admin to enable Reports in the workspace module settings.
A user sees fewer tasks in the report than expected. Their permission level on the module is likely Added or Owns rather than All, which limits them to records they created or own. Raise the level if appropriate — and have them log out and back in, since permission changes need a re-login.
A user has no Export button. Check the "Employee can export data" setting, and the "Allow export in table view" toggle for the fields concerned.
Numbers do not match between the task reports and the time reports. They measure different things: task status versus logged hours. Reconcile using the Time Log Report and the Weekly Timesheet, and remember that timesheet hours only count once they have been saved and submitted through the approval flow.
