Sign Up Settings

Sign Up Settings controls whether people signing up to your workspace must accept terms and conditions, and where those terms live. It is a small screen with a single job, but it is the one that makes your signup flow legally presentable.

Who can use it

  • Admins configure this. It applies to the whole workspace.

Prerequisites

  • A URL for your terms and conditions that is publicly reachable without logging in. The setting stores a link, not the text itself, so the page must already exist somewhere you control.

How to Access

Navigation: Sidebar → Settings → Sign Up Settings (/account/settings/sign-up-settings).

What you can set

FieldWhat it does
Sign-up terms and conditionsToggle. When on, signups must accept your terms before the account is created.
Terms linkThe URL the acceptance text points at. Required when the toggle is on.

Turn the toggle on, paste the URL, and save. From then on the signup form shows the acceptance step and links to that address.

Where this applies

This governs the signup form itself. It is separate from the client-side controls in App Settings, which decide whether clients may self-register at all and whether an admin has to approve them. If your aim is to stop people signing up rather than to make them accept terms, that is the setting you want.

Limitations and workarounds

  • The terms are a link, not stored content. PMSuite does not host or version your terms. Workaround: publish them on your own site and keep the URL stable, so past acceptances still point somewhere meaningful.
  • Acceptance is not surfaced per user. There is no per-account record here showing who accepted which version and when. Workaround: for auditable consent, use the GDPR tooling under GDPR & Compliance rather than relying on this toggle.
  • Changing the link is retroactive in effect. Everyone who already accepted now points at the new document. Workaround: keep the old terms at their original URL and publish revisions at a new one.
  • A broken link is not detected. PMSuite will happily show a link that 404s. Workaround: open the URL in a private window after saving.

Troubleshooting

  • Signups are not showing the terms step. The toggle is off, or the terms link is empty.
  • The terms link goes nowhere for new signups. The URL requires a login. It must be publicly reachable, since people follow it before they have an account.
  • People still cannot self-register. That is not controlled here. Check the Client Sign Up controls in App Settings.
